Job description :

As Vice President Engineering and Product Development, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and operational management of all engineering activities within our company. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians to ensure the development, design, and successful implementation of innovative products while meeting quality standards/ norms and deadlines.

Main responsibilities

Strategic leadership

  • Define engineering's strategic vision in alignment with market opportunities and overall corporate objectives.
  • Develop short- and long-term strategic plans (technology roadmap) for product development and company growth.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate engineering into company-wide initiatives.
  • Establish the company's intellectual property strategy.

Operational management

  • Oversee all aspects of engineering operations, including resource planning and management, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Manage improvement and development projects, including certifications.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory and safety standards in all engineering projects.
  • Optimize processes and workflows to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.Optimize non-dilutive funding sources (grants and R&D credits).
  • Implement data mining to improve wind turbine fleet performance.

Team leadership

  • Recruit, train and develop a talented team of engineers and technicians.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to team members to foster their professional development and success.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration and excellence within the engineering team.

Customer and partner relations

  • Collaborate with customers and partners to understand their engineering needs and requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and strategic partners to ensure project success.

Skills and qualifications :

  • University degree in engineering or related field; Master's or MBA is an asset.
  • At least 15 years' experience in an engineering management role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong leadership, team management and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective strategies to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Member of the OIQ
