Job description :
Reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer, the Corporate Controller is responsible for all management control activities under their responsibility to ensure proper management of the P&L (with a focus on accounting margin) and the balance sheet, with particular attention to working capital requirements (WCR) and its financing.
Main Responsibilities
MANAGEMENT CONTROL
- Drafts, adapts, and updates management control procedures in line with Group procedures.
- Conducts subsidiary reviews on the application of management procedures in subsidiaries.
- Controls, in conjunction with the financial teams in the area, the knowledge and application of management rules.
- Participates with the CFO in the preparation of forecasts.
MARGIN MONITORING AND FRAMING
- Ensures the monitoring and reliability of information related to commercial margins, transportation costs, supplier discounts, and any other elements influencing profitability.
- Controls purchase price deviations and specific price agreements (valuation, tracking of credit requests, discrepancy between requests/credits received).
- Controls rebates granted to customers and those given by suppliers.
STOCKS AND INVENTORIES
- Ensures that goods receipt operations are correctly processed, using available tools and control statements on the commercial/stock management tool.
- Monitors/controls stock indicators (number of active, dormant, inactive days) and associated action plans.
- Controls the proper application of specific stock monitoring procedures.
TEAM SUPERVISION
- Supervises teams on management control topics.
- Acts as the main contact in Canada with Group finance teams.
- Will participate in the deployment of the Group’s financial tools (e.g., implementation of SAP4HANA) in Canada.
- Supervises the production of budgets and forecasts for various companies in collaboration with financial controllers.
Skills and qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting
- CPA designation required
- Minimum 10 years in accounting, including 3 to 7 years in a similar position
- Knowledge of management control tools/principles
- Proficient in Excel, comfortable with commercial and stock management tools
- Good knowledge of accounting
- Ability to write, interpret, and support the deployment of procedures
- Analytical and synthesis skills, autonomous, rigorous, and methodical
- Priority management and meeting deadlines
- Strong results-oriented culture
- Bilingual in French/English, both oral and written
